As we anticipate the excitement of the New Year, it's time to raise our glasses high and toast to good health, happiness, and prosperity. This year, we're taking our New Year's Eve celebration up a notch with a unique twist on the classic champagne toast: a citrusy, bubbly Rum Champagne Punch. This delightful recipe comes straight from the kitchen of one of our beloved customers, Mrs. Hill. Thank you, Mrs. Hill, for sharing!

Not only is this punch delicious and refreshing, but it's also remarkably easy to prepare, especially with the assistance of the Vinci Hands-Free Citrus Juicer. This handy device will do all the hard work, leaving you more time to enjoy the festivities.

TIP: This is a great cocktail recipe to make for a group to make ahead and add the champagne right before serving.

Mrs. Hill's Rum Champagne Punch

Ingredients:

  • Juice of 1-2 lemons (to taste)
  • Juice of several oranges or about 1 cup of orange juice
  • 1 cup light rum
  • 2 bottles of chilled champagne
  • Frozen orange juice blocks (optional)

Step-by-step Recipe:

  1. Juice Your Citrus: Begin by using your Vinci Hands-Free Citrus Juicer to extract the juice from your lemons and oranges. This device simplifies the juicing process; just cut your citrus in half, place it on the reamer, press the button, and let the Vinci take over. You'll be left with fresh, pure juice devoid of pulp or seeds.
  2. Mix Your Punch Base: Combine the freshly squeezed lemon and orange juices with the light rum in a large punch bowl. Stir well to mix.
  3. Chill Your Punch: To maintain the cool temperature of your punch without diluting it, consider freezing some extra fresh orange juice ahead of time and adding frozen orange juice cubes. They'll gradually melt into the punch, adding more flavor while keeping it chilled. Or simply chill in the refrigerator.
  4. Add the Bubbly: Pour in your two bottles of chilled champagne just before serving. The effervescence will mingle with the citrus and rum, creating a fizzy, delightful drink perfect for a midnight toast or New Year's Day brunch cocktail.

Mrs. Hill's Rum Champagne Punch is an excellent way to welcome the New Year. It blends the elegance of champagne with the tropical flair of rum and citrus, making it a hit at any New Year's Eve gathering. Plus, with the help of the Vinci Hands-Free Citrus Juicer, preparing a large batch of this punch has never been easier.

As we countdown to the New Year, ensure you're holding a glass of this delicious punch. Here's to a joyful, healthy, and prosperous year ahead!
